What is the R.O.L.L. Project?

"The Next Generation of Living."

Brought to you by the A.M.M.O. Corporation
The R.O.L.L. Project is a revolutionary new project started by the A.M.M.O. Corporation and is their second project in the works. In the year 2014, technology had gotten to a point where machines had replaced almost all employees, and left almost no way for the general public to earn income.

To resolve this issue, a majority of the big corporations came together and funded The A.M.M.O. Project, or, Automated Money Making Online. The goal was to create a virtual environment that consisted of many ways to earn income.

Using AMVR (Automatically Moderated Virtual Reality) technology, which A.M.M.O. Corp. would sell, users could enter the world in order to do jobs and complete tasks. This would earn them money that could be sent straight to their bank accounts. While in this world, time would pass faster than in the real world while the AMVR technology kept their real body alive and healthy.

This was the initial idea, but after a few play tests, technological breakthroughs, and feedback from its users, A.M.M.O. Corp. scrapped the project and moved onto their next big idea: The R.O.L.L. Project.
"Wells and Mo started their journey hoping to create a fun way to make money online, but instead they created an entirely new universe."

THE PROJECT

The R.O.L.L. Project stands for Recommended Online Living Library and started development in early 2020. After feedback from the initial A.M.M.O. Project play tests, the A.M.M.O. Corporation discovered people thoroughly enjoyed living in their simulated world. They liked it so much in fact that some stated they would rather live there than in the real world. Taking this opportunity, A.M.M.O. Corp. got to work immediately.

The corporation would assign their newly constructed and highly efficient A.I., AMMO, to oversee this project. She would be in charge of creating the worlds, managing users, and maintaining the structure of the program. The goal was to have users enter this new digital universe via their AMVR devices. Once inside, they could freely hop between worlds as a traveler, or if they liked a world, purchase land or a house via the R.O.L.L. Project's digital store using the money they make in each world.

Other equipment, cosmetics, and other luxury items could be purchased from this store as well and be used across the different worlds, as long as they fit within the parameters of each world, i.e, you can't use a machine mech in a medieval world. This is to ensure stability and realism within all worlds.

Wells and Mo had never taken on a project so large and were unsure if AMMO could handle it, so to begin they asked her to create ten thousand diverse worlds to start. Once those were done, A.M.M.O. Corp. would host another sweepstakes for users to enter for a chance to play test the new program.

AMMO got to work immediately, beginning the process of creating ten thousand worlds. She began coding each world, writing basic parameters for each and what they were to eventually become. Then she ran each simulation from zero, starting each world at a point with barely any life, and sped up time within said worlds tenfold. Centuries would pass in the worlds while only a few seconds passed in real time. This was to ensure the worlds felt natural and real.

In order to speed up this process, she created a group of smaller AI programs known as The Overseers. They work in the shadows, infiltrating worlds and often blending in with them as to not disturb its natural growth. Each of the Overseers have a specific purpose, such as fixing bugs or removing viruses, anything they can do to save AMMO time. She estimated it would take her a few months to finish all the worlds using this process, then maybe another month to ensure everything was running smoothly.

That brings us to present day. The estimated date for The R.O.L.L. Project’s first play test is August 19th, 2020. Many fans wait with anticipation, ready to see what AMMO has created for them and explore this new universe.

TEN THOUSAND WORLDS+

The main selling point of the R.O.L.L. Project is its infinite number of worlds. They vary from worlds solely based on creating entertainment for other worlds, to high fantasy adventure worlds, to entire worlds composed of waterslides. AMMO will constantly be creating and releasing worlds to the public, some of which will be free and some that are exclusive and must be paid for.

That's the end goal anyway, but for now there will only be ten thousand worlds. That should be enough variability for the starting users to get accustomed to.
