Naruba

Naruba is a grand city on top an island in the middle of the Harunda river. It is the seat of power of the Varkanesh domain and ruled by the Golem King Khato.
The ruling class of Naruba consists only out of golems that became self aware. They founded the city and started to acquire other golems and living construct and work constantly on freeing them from their servitude.
Naruba is known for its delicate pottery and porcelain, its statue art and simple building bricks.
As golems do not need to eat or drink, living people will find it extremely expensive to buy food and drink in Naruba and every honest guide should warn their employers to bring those with them.
An imposant view are the four living bridges that connect the island with both riverbanks. Each night, after three bell signals, they detach themselves from the riverbank and move into the city, isolating the island.
On the highest hill on the island, an ancient ziggurat towers over the city. On top of it a miniature sun lights the sky. Its light is just bright enough, that one does not need to cover ones eyes. This ziggurat is one of the holy sites of Allerdar and attracts many pilgrims. An important part of the pilgrimage is the climbing of the ziggurat, even if it steps seem not to comfortably fit human step width. Once on top of the ziggurat, priest of Allerdar may enter the light and be cleaned from their sins. Believers of Allerdar can even hear the faint whisper of his voice, although none can make out any words.
