In Game Behavioral Expectations

Guide to having a safe and fun game session!

Our community thrives on creating a positive and inclusive environment for everyone involved, fostering both enjoyment and safety. Given the diverse backgrounds of our online players, it's crucial that each member feels valued and respected. We go beyond mere tolerance; we emphasize respect for one another and the appreciation of our differences. The following expectations will be upheld in all aspects of the game.

  • Respect: Respect for one another is the cornerstone of our gameplay. Banter, casual criticism, and jokes are all part of the gaming experience, but it's important to maintain respect regardless of the conversation. While poking fun at someone's in-game choices is acceptable, personal insinuations or attacks cross a line.
  • Cruelty: Not tolerated, see above.
  • DM Status: The Dungeon Master holds a god-like role in the game. If there's a disagreement with the DM's decision, follow instructions and address concerns privately later. Halting the game for arguments disrupts the experience for everyone. Constructive criticism and suggestions are welcome, but save them for post-game discussions. If the DM takes the story in an unexpected direction, consider discussing a retcon privately. Propose your case and, if accepted, trust the DM's judgment on how to proceed.
  • Player Skill: Tabletop gaming skills vary, especially in our homebrew system. Instead of criticism, approach these moments as teaching opportunities. If the DM overlooks something, kindly inform them privately. Similarly, if a player forgets to use their skills, offer a friendly reminder. We're all part of a team, not competitors against each other.
  • Have Fun:The ultimate rule guiding everything we do is to have fun. While rules are essential for structure, they aren't inflexible. If bending or breaking a rule enhances the enjoyment and everyone has a great time, that's what matters most. Don't become overly rigid; remember, we're all here for the joy of the game!
