Şiv´ia

Siv'ia is a crucial point on the infinite chain, as it is the world where the corruption was stopped, and is also the end of the true magical worlds in the post-corruption era. Very little is known about pre-corruption Siv'ia, even less than worlds that were corrupted or those caught in the backlash of the closing of the flow. It is known that pre-corruption Siv'ia was very aware of the flow and the infinite chain, and thus had the knowledge to shut down the magic flow.

What is this corruption thingy anyways?

The corruption was a pollution within the magical flow of the infinite chain which caused devastation and horrific mutations in the worlds it affected. It is assumed to have begun on Io, the highest world in common contact with the mid-chain. Officials on Io maintain that it came from higher up, and some have theorized that the corruption was the death breath of Mysterium, the theoretical start point of the Infinite chain. According to this theory, the infinite chain has been slowly unraveling since, with worlds dying off and adding to the corruption.   This theory is given little merit, as the corruption ended long ago and nothing similar has happened since.

Okay, but what about Siv'ia?

When news of the spreading corruption reached Siv'ia, it's mage-scientists started trying to diagnose this mysterious catastrophe. They were unsuccessful, and as the effects became more horrific, it was decided that the uncorrupted worlds below them must be protected at all costs.   Experts from Io, Tşh´óaeşiv´ia, and Siv'ia, as well as some powerful Earth sorcerer's met on Siv'ia, and cast the spells that stopped the flow of magic. The results were near instantaneous and devastating. Siv'ia was hit with nearly the full force of the infate chain's magic, razing most of the universe and destroying almost all life. The magical backlash was felt throughout the worlds above, leading to devastation and near extinction on Tşh´óaeşiv´ia, and semi-apocalypses as far back as Io.   The cost was great, but infinite worlds were spared the horror of the corruption. For many millennia, the great deeds of the Sealer Mages had only lived on in Siv'ian legend. Recently, historical records from Io and other higher worlds confirmed their heroic actions, and the sacrifices of them and their worlds have been honoured.

ALL magic?

Well, not quite. While almost every connection to any world were cut off, the Sealer Mages didn't know about or have the chance to close them all. This is why Earth and Siv'ia are still so closely linked, and why abnormalities, such as a dragon surviving on Dim World, have occurred. Recently, scientists and mages have started getting interested in interdimensional travel again, and as such connections and magic are spreading further down the chain.

The Tragedy of the Lower Chain

While the worlds of the lower chain were spared the horror of the corruption, there was still tragedy to come. Magic stoped working
