Primordial God of the Twirling Suns

(a.k.a. God of the Suns)

The dancing suns of yellow and white, symbolizing light, fire, and warmth, are home to the Primordial God of the Dancing Suns and his firstborn son, Elemental God of Fire: Ignis.   We are illuminated by their light, and sustained by their warmth. It is their love of us and our love of them that binds us together."
— Devout believer in the God of the Twirling Suns

Tenets of Faith

Persistance

Holidays

The summer solstice. Solar Eclipse

Divine Goals & Aspirations

To spread light and warmth to all he encounters. Those who sunburn just couldn't handle his brilliance. Yes, he does feel bad for it, but he will not stop shining for them alone.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

His default state occupies the existence of not one, but two suns. So long as the suns burn bright, his condition is well.  In a mortal form, he would have regenerative capabilities bordering upon the absurd, a trait of the fire which he commands.   He is immune to illnesses, and any attacks on his mortal form will likely be incenerated on-hit.

Body Features

Suns: two balls of burning gas in the sky.   Mortal: Varies by form. He has a relatively high body temperature. If you get him to consent, he will allow you to cook on him.

Facial Features

Golden eyes with pupils that appear to burn

Identifying Characteristics

He has golden irises that appear to burn or flicker like fire.

Physical quirks

As a mortal, he can cook food on his skin. He cannot swim, not for lack of knowing, but because his constitution is ill-suited for water. in every conceivable way.

Special abilities

In mortal form:
  • Fire damage absorption
  • Light damage absorption
  • Earth damage immunity
  • Gravity attack immunity
  • Usage of all fire, light, gravity, and earth abilities.
In any form
  • Astral projection
  • Dreamwalking
  • Physical/mental possession.
  • Sensory sharing

Specialized Equipment

Mental characteristics

Personal history

As he was born with the suns, his history is a long one which mortals cannot comprehend. He spent much of his early life in a state of boredom, simply watching and learning the workings of all planets within his gaze, but finally got things to do when sentient creatures appeared.

Gender Identity

The Primordial God of the Twirling Suns is (correctly) assumed by mortals to be male. He also identifies as male, though he could be something else if he wished. This is only relevant when he takes a humanoid form, and as such, it is generally irrelevant to him.

Failures & Embarrassments

Though he is loathe to admit, he is utterly unaware of things which happen below teh surface of water.

Intellectual Characteristics

Quite intelligent, he understands anything under the sun, within the reach of light, or anything on the ground. He is not a particular fan of things that dwell within water's depths, and his ignorance of them is apparent.

Taboos

  • Calling him "The Lecherous God" will get you killed. If you are lucky, you'll get swallowed by the earth, never to be seen again.
  • Taunting the Goddess of the Moon will get you either a drought or an earthquake... if she doesnt strike first.
  • Perversion of the ideas of the Elemental Deities (his children), may see widespread cataclysms.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

To spread light and warmth to the denizins of the world.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

He is knowledgeable on most terrestrial tasks.
  • Can't swim
  • Can't communicate with aquatic species that cannot speak a surface language.

Likes & Dislikes

Likes
  • Barbecues
  • Sunrises
  • Sunsets
  • Noon
  • Hiking
  • Cooking
Dislikes
  • Swimming
  • Water that is deep enough to cover him
  • Fish
  • Lettuce - it dries up too quickly when near him for him to enjoy it

Virtues & Personality perks

He is a very reasonable deity. Some of other deities consider him a bit too reasonable. His patience is thought ot be nearly boundless.

Vices & Personality flaws

If you do anger him, and are not quick to repent, punishment will be swift and excessive. That is to say that once angered, he has a bit of a temper. Earthquiakes have struck villages for the sole purpose of removing a house and its inhabitans from existance. The upside to this is that collateral damage is generally very low, and usually only includes broken dishes or minor injuries on the part of those uninvolved.

Hygiene

Although he generally smells a little crispy, he is quite clean.

Congratulations on your successful participation and here is your little badge.   I really liked that the god also has weaknesses and there are taboos. If you expand the article, I would like you to perhaps tell a legend about the god and include quotes from worshipers who sacrifice something to their god and what prayers they say?
