The Emerald Barrel
One of the many Barrel Bar and Tavern locations. This location is unquestionably the most remote (and unkempt) location, as well as one of the oldest. Adjacent to some questionable architecture, namely the backward house next door. It is generally assumed that either the owner or the architect of the reversed house was a frequent customer, perhaps to the point that they merely lived at the attached inn instead of in their own house.
Purpose / Function
It's a bar, drink, socialize, and occasionally ogle patrons or staff. There's food too.
It's the only place in town for partying and revelry, aside from whatever shenanigans go on in the inverted house next door.
Design
Everything about this building is wooden, be it normal, petrified, or glossed. It comes with the territory of being carved out of a tree. Even the barstools are carved out of the inside of the tree (most of them at least).
Contents & Furnishings
You can find a bar, stools, tables and chairs, and lots of cups (also wooden, watch out for splinters).
Alterations
It's a perfectly normal Elvish tavern, that happens to be attached to a hotel.
Architecture
The bar, and it's attached inn are both carved out of one of the giant fallen trees.
Defenses
On busy nights, there is a bouncer. She's unusually large and stocky for an elf. She's built more like a dwarf with the height of an elf. Sometimes her older brother also helps from time to time (he's the tiny half-elf that hides behind her most of the time).
History
The bar and tavern have been there since the establishment of the Emerald Canopy. They were among the first buildings constructed (or carved) as lodgings and liquor are considered essential in the depths of the woods.
Tourism
People do not come to this particular place to see it specifically. They come because whether you're a tourist or a resident of the village, it is the only tavern in the vicinity.
