Reef of the Damned
The reef of the damned is a collection of barrier reefs and rocks that surround the coastlines of the Eastern Rim. No one knows the full number of ships that have been lost in the area, dashed to splinters on the rocks as they tried to navigate the trecherous winds and currents of the area. Near constant geologic and storm activity in the region makes passage through the area an act of faith for either the truly courageous, or truly foolish.
Even the aquatic Kar'chari have trouble navigating the waters of the reef due to the vicious and unpredictable currents that sweep through the region. Undersea mudslides and tsunamis make attempts to swim through the region a deadly challenge. If this weren't enough, the most common predator in the region is a species of squid-like creatures called Decessen, known for their cunning intelligence and culinary appeal. It is for precisely this reason that the Kar'chari use the area as a testing ground to prove themselves, seeing the Decessen as both a worthy prey and tasty snack.
