The First Expansion

When the mana flows into the Duende's proto-universe, it causes to inflate and expand. Usually this process is rather gradual, but the events of the Era of Desolation caused tremendous amounts of energy to pour in faster than it could reasonably handle. The result was a rapid inflation with the influx of mana and a subsequent collapse deflation as it equalized. These events are known as expansions.

When the bubble expands and contracts, it can capture the unwary in its pull, drawing them into Duende's universe. Once their, it is almost a given that they will, in time, arrive on Duende, though not always in one piece. The first expansion was, perhaps, the most unexpected, capturing several ships from multiple civilizations in its wake. Humans, Ankhana, Fulmin, and Kar'chari were all caught in the first wave. While their may have been others, these landed on or near the continent of Rigda.
