Earth King Belan's Burial

311AG
20/3

A funeral for Earth Monarch Belan is held. Fire Nation citizens in attendance, including Fire Lord Liv, feel their presence unwelcomed.

The World Telegraph brings you a message from Prince Ayato of the Earth Kingdom

I have no words to describe how I feel after the death of my brother. Everyone in my life has passed on and somehow I’m always the one that gets left behind. I wish it would’ve been me instead of Belan, but such thoughts will produce nothing. Now is not the time to mourn, there is nothing in my heart left but rage after watching my brother die by the Fire Nation’s hands. I will be succeeding my brother and taking up the mantle of Earth King. As King I will have justice for my brother’s death and lead the Earth Kingdom into an era of greatness and power. The world will know to fear us and will never again have the opportunity to harm us.
A funeral for my brother will be held in the sand tribe we grew up in, Belan would have wanted to be buried there alongside our ancestors. This event will take place at the Hami Tribe. All those who care for my brother and the Earth Kingdom as a whole are welcome to attend.
In response to Prince Ayato, now King of the Earth Kingdom:
The world telegraph brings you a message from Fire Lord Liv
For the past few nights I haven’t slept. It’s been constant flashbacks to that horrible moment Belan was shot in front of me, trying to comprehend why them? What has Belan done to drive someone to murder? And to think Ayato blamed me seconds afterwards. I’ve been talking to my husband and the rest of my family, asking for their opinions on what I should do. I’ve also confided in my trusted officials on how we are going to get to the bottom of what exactly happened.
On top of all this I am hearing about military raids which I will gladly return the favor at any given point. King Ayato, I want you to know that if you think you are going to get away with slandering my nation for a mistake your guards made not protecting your brother, you will see just how strong of a military Fire Nation has. We won’t rest until we have justice.
The Fire Nation is innocent
