Culture

Major language groups and dialects

They speak mostly Common, and Elemat.

Culture and cultural heritage

The Edenkiins cultural heritage arose during the first dispute after The Cleanse when Eden shook and the first king, King Eike the Eerie, and his friend, Thyorn Myaama, calmed the planets quakes and sealed its open wounds with new trees, using their roots as stitches. It is said that this was the moment the Terranian race was named, and the moral of each person present had been reinforced by the potential power they could possess if only they united their efforts.

Shared customary codes and values

A Edenkiin will always help another Terranian to the best of its legal abilities due to most Edenkiin believing in the Terranian ideals of a unified kingdom.
They believe Eden and its ground to be sacred and will fight to the death to defend land they've lain claim to.

Common Dress code

It is uncommon for the weather midland to get too cold, and even rarer for it to snow. As such, most Edenkiin appear to wear clothing that is open-shoulder, and are rarely seen wearing footwear. The women prefer to have their belly and arms exposed, whereas the men are typically seen wearing thin, loose shirts, if any. For bottoms the females typically wear dresses, skirts, and caprice pants, while the males wear anything from full pants to shorts.

Art & Architecture

Edenkiin like to focus their artistic talent through a few different mediums. The most common methods are stone engravings, geographical formations, statues, and most prominently, architecture.
Although the geographical formations are generally done in a group setting.

Funerary and Memorial customs

The Edenkiin believe that their ancestors watch over them from within their walls, protecting and warning from any dangers that may occur. When an Edenkiin dies their loved ones perform a ritual of casing, which is to embalm the corpse, fill it will preservatives, and case it within the walls of Terran in an air-tight compact seal. This allows their loved ones to stay close after departing, and those left behind can feel comfort in the safety of their family walls.
The grieving are then given 1 weeks time to mourn before they are expected to return to their professions or risk receiving a penalty, or release from labor letter.

Common Taboos

  • Edenkiin do not pollute. If they see someone polluting they will either interfere, or report the incident to any nearby Stoneblades.
  • If they see something that is considered a natural geographical formation that has depreciated or been damaged/vandalized they will repair/clean it. No questions asked. It is considered a disrespect to both their gods Irde and Myamya to leave it in such disrepair.
  • They value their strength as a people and consider the use of things like poisons, paralytic agents, toxic gasses, and oils for their weapons forbidden. Instead preferring to "fight fairly".
  • They don't fly. Ever. They do not like it when their feet leave the ground, this makes them feel half blind due to the loss of their ability to tremor sense.
  • They do not set sail after boarding a ship until they have had a chance to tether themselves to the mast. This protects them from falling overboard and sinking too quickly due to their weight.

Historical figures

  1. Serrahs Volf - AKA, King Serrahs the Kind. She rose a slab of stone quickly enough to launch herself up and punch Echidna from the sky, scaring the Mother of Monsters back into the seas. She then toppled the cult tyrant Mother Myirx and liberated the Terranian crown, and she survived not only falling the 36,000 foot drop into the Devils Mouth, but climbing back out with a soldier on her back.
  2. Eliid Killigner - Said to be the Saint of Fate. She fought and survived the War of Gods, later liberating her goddess from the Box of Blasphemy (also known as Pandoras box).
  3. Eike Stahl - AKA, King Eike the Eerie. He is said to have stopped a massive Edenquake in the early days of Elematiis. He was later given the title, "The Eerie" due to his complete emotional detachment to people and his involvement in sex trafficking.
  4. Reble Biin - Known initially as "Reble Stone-Skin the Unbreakable," nothing on the surface of Eden was able to puncture Rebles stone-skin. He was said to have survived fighting countless monsters, two dragons of the Garden, and a kraken without a scratch before a meteor falling to Eden caught his attention. He had a Fae smith craft a magical catapult that shot him through the sky and into the flaming rock. The meteor was destroyed, but Reble never returned. That was henceforth known as the day that Reble stone-skin the Unbreakable, finally broke. The date of his death was recorded as Syre 13th, 5244 TN, and a memorial for him stands on the wall of heroes located in Teravitahl, Terran.
  5. Daun Killigner - First leader of the 3rd battalion of Stone Blades at the age of 10, he was promoted at 15 to commander of the third generation of Terranian revolutionaries aspiring to liberate the Terranian throne from cult tyrant Mother Myirx. Despite his age, most soldiers held him in high regards due to his valor during the battle to reclaim the Ranges of Raiyna (later renamed Geodemawvis) from enemy Aireai forces. When most of his battalion was captured as prisoners of war and he was able to escape and take over the enemy base, rescuing almost all of his men in the process. When Daun handed in his final mission statement he had accurately reported that during his mission he had liberated 742 soldiers, with 1 K.I.A in the process of retaking the Ranges.
  6. Sakoi Carmaala - The first Edenkiin to make a perfume to rival those made by the Fyrnkiin and Fae. Sakoi was renamed after her most prominent perfume, Sweet Sakoi Breeze, which was made only by her. Her talent was so well sought out for that she was even invited to attend a tea party of the goddesses in Babylon, where she sold a bottle to the goddess Fate herself. Only 60 bottles were ever made using her recipe before the time of Sakoi Carmaalas death, a recipe which none have been able to recreate as she took it with her to the grave.
  7. Keemli Moara - A Edenkiin said to have somehow fallen into the The Fayde. He convinced a few brave few Fae to summon him back to Eden through a portal in Mordu, communicating with them by writing into the ground at their feet. The story of Keemli resonates with more than only Terranians as his tale ends with a grim conclusion stemming from sacrifice. when the Fae travelers made it to Mordu and opened the portal to pull him back into the Mortal Realm, 34 Fae children covered in blood emerged instead. The children all insisted that he painted them red and said "Don't turn around, just keep going. Don't worry, I'm right behind you." And that he continually promised he was right behind them as they walked through the portal, but though the Fae travelers waited as long as they could, after determining the blood to be Keemlis it soon became apparent that he was not going to be returning to this world. Some say if you enter the Fayde in the dead of night through the mountains of Mordu, you can still hear him whispering to the children in a haunting tone, "I'm right behind you... I'm right behind you."

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

They appear to value strong and masculine facial features, sturdy shoubouls that are well filed if female, or dense and rough if male. Most seem to prefer thicker and well pronounced thighs and arms with a firm torso for either gender.
The females like to grow their hair out long and braid gemstones into it, but both genders enjoy piercing themselves to place precious stones as body ornaments.

Gender Ideals

Majority of males try to encompass a rough and stern approach to their growth, ending up with rugged and natural looking shoubouls, however, the females will actually file their shoubouls and any protruding stone-skin smooth.
Both genders are fairly sturdy and can fill the role of either fulltime worker, or stay at home parent. They are both protective in nature of those they value, however, because of their passion many female Terranians have issues getting along once they disagree. The males are typically stern but worth the effort of friendship because they are known worldwide as, "The guys who always back you in a scrap".

Courtship Ideals

The Terranian's are capable people that are proud of their military accomplishments throughout history. As such, when a lady feels she is ready to be courted she crafts herself a sheath and wears it empty, awaiting a warrior to place a blade within. If a blade is placed the lady is then given the option to agree to her suitor or challenge him to a dual for the right to her hand. The lady may choose champion or family member to fight in her stead, however, most full-blooded Terranian women prefer to stand their own ground in order to test the worth of their potential mate in combat.

Relationship Ideals

Once two Edenkiin shack up you likely wont see them parting with one another. There are the few occasions where a Terranian has had more than one life partner, but for the most part it is very difficult because once they commit, they're in it for the long haul. It's traditional for Edenkiin Terranians to venture to the Geode mines in Geodemawvis, Terran so they can split up and mine a precious gem, mineral, or metal that calls to them in order to gift it to their lover. During the marriage ceremony, the partners exchange what they found with one another and have a specialist from a Naturin temple called a Druis embed the new material into their Shoubouls as an ornament.
Each partner in the couple is regarded henceforth as equal. Two parts of one entity that should actively be working to improve the overall joy of this new life, which each partner now shares.
