Settlement Overview System

Each settlement throughout the world is made up of various moving parts all of which differ and balance across a razor's edge of excess and happiness to scarcity and revolt. It can often be hard to quantify each of the various levels of resources settlements may have. Thus we have come out with our settlement overview system.   Each settlement has the following sectors Leadership, Military, Economic, Environmental, Social, and Cultural divisions. These six major focuses help us break down the excess and needs of any settlement. Each section is rated from zero to five stars, the more stars the stronger each element.  

Leadership

The leadership branch of the settlement overview system consists of the power of the city to influence the areas around it. While Authority determines the various levels of influence upon different regions Security deals with the influence of the government with the law and order within their walls.  

Authority

Authority is the influence of the settlement beyond it's boarders.
Level Description Requirements
0 No Local influence or occupied territory None
1 Local territory Town Hall
2 Modest Regional Influence None
3 High Regional Influence Garrison built within the region
4 Intercontinental Influence Castle
5 Unbound Influence Palace
 

Security

Security is the law and order of the settlement.
Level Description Requirements
0 Crime is rampant, no organized guards None
1 Crime is rampant, Corrupt or ill equipped guard. (75%) Guard Post
2 Crime is common, guard presence but not major patrols Guard House
3 Crime is uncommon, guards patrol most of the city. Jail
4 Crime is rare, guards are present and respected. Courthouse
5 Crime is very rare, law is honored by the people. None
   

Military

The military branch of the settlement overview system focuses on both the offensive and defensive capabilities of the establishment. Training deals with the quality of the individual soldiers or militia members who will rise to protect the settlement while Defense deals with the ability to repel an aggressive action.  

Training

The training stat refers to the combat readiness and quality of the training of the soldeirs.

3 Formal Training Barracks
4 Career Soldiers Fort (Within 3 days)
5 Advanced Training, Professional Soldiers Military Academy
   

Defense

The Defense addressed the ability of the settlement to deter an opposing force from outside the settlement.

0 No defensive structures None
1 Wooden Walls None
2 Stone Walls Watchtowers
3 Reinforced Walls Reinforced Gates
4 Castle Walls Gate House
5 Castle Walls & Full defensive structures All defensive upgrades
