Uharuka
Uharuka, literally: 'the evil men of Ka'anacik'. Is the name of a group of humans who aim to conquer Keadin and eliminate the dwarven presence from Unem.
History
When the humans arrived: the Haru. They brought seeds and taught the dwarves how to cultivate them. In turn, the dwarves taught them stoneworking, metallurgy and what wild foods to eat. Dwarves and humans lived together for a while but the deeply imbedded culture of sharing and selflessness wasn't shared by the humans. They wanted to own their own land, their own things, and only trade if it benefited them. They saw the naivety of the dwarves and took advantage of it. They started stealing.
The dwarves in turn branded these humans and exiled them. The humans settled in small villages on the plains of Unem, on Naash, on the western islands and some even fled to Illinor. They started raiding trade caravans and ships. Stealing from settlements. and with that, the seeds of greed and warfare were planted. These raiding parties were called Uharuka ('evil humans of the Ka'...').
The Dîn shut themselves off from all contact, retreating behind the Kiridun mountains to Dûn. Focussing only on internal affairs. Meanwhile, the dwarves on Aachor maintained trade relationships with those on Unem, but only once in a while in large groups, to avoid their ships being attacked. They began arming any travelers with weapons to fight off the raiding Uharuka.
After many years of little interaction except occasional raids, the humans had grown in numbers. Some took up life as farmers, and started trading with the dwarves, wanting to mend the relationships between the races, some united under the banner of the Eharu. But others held a grudge; They fashioned weapons for themselves, and started plotting their attack. They surprised the dwarves and captured Keadin. The city had not been built with warfare in mind, the only protection it had ever needed was against the elements and wild animals. Many dwarves died and the rest fled over the sea back to their clans. The humans started building defences around the city. The Kádi dwarves launched a counterattack, which proved unsuccesful due to the new defences. The dwarves retreated but after a few months, the Kádi dwarves had convinced the Dîn to join them, and with some help from the Eharu they launched a counterattack. This attack was succesful and the Uharuka were banished once again from the city. The Uharuka had taken haevy losses and were vastly outnumbered. So they retreated.
Not all of the humans were of the same conquering mind, and some fled to live with the dwarves on Aachor. They allowed them to live on the continent, but were not allowed inside the dwarven towns and were constantly viewed with suspicion. Many decided to settle in in Unem, but far from Keadin, and some settled even further away.
Territories
Keadin was founded by the Kádi and the Dîn dwarves. The Uharuka occupied Keadin forcefully for a few months. After that they retreated to smaller towns around Unem. As they were strong shipwrights, they made the town of Southport their main place of operations.
