Life, Death
The last of the House Hammerfell, King Jaharys died after succumbing to the Hunger and going on a rampage into the city.
During the Age known as the Culling or the Great Hunger, the kingdom now lead by the young king Jaharys Hammerfell, waged a war to stop it and set the world right. In the year of 110 DC, most of the kingdom that had not been infected by the Culling or killed had somehow built up an immunity to the plague. Because of this, it was easier to extinguish who was infected or not. By 109 DC, Jaharys called upon a new council with the former kingslayer Valxed Brimscale, a dragonborn warlord, acting as his right hand. Together, the two had made a significant dent in the population that had been infected. This victory was short lived however, seeing as how there was now a creature leading the disjointed and scattered armies of the infected under its rule. The creature was a humanoid with the head of a horned demon that had seemingly came from the Astral Plane itself. With this new threat emerging, Jaharys and Valxed fought even harder to preserve the legacy of the kingdom of Novarré up until king Jaharys' death. Jaharys had somehow become infected by the Hunger, going on a rampage throughout the capital of Kal Meur were thousands of lives were lost. It took the combined efforts of Valxed and his two sisters, Kalera and Dreamer, to put an end to Hammerfell's rampage. After that, House Hammerfell and the last of the royal half-giants, were no more. For nearly a century after, Valxed and his kin fought on in the name of the once great house.
