Remus Remus

The Old Empire and it's people the Imperatoria are one of the most fascinating areas of history. The very name of this people and their nation in time became to synonymous whit their empire that they today are seen as more or less the same thing. The Imperium is not only the name of the Imperatoria nation, but a word that means "Empire". Just as the name of the people of the empire, the Imperatoria is also a words that means "Imperials".   And it might never have been if the great blacksmith and warlord Remus Remus had not forged the 25 clans of the Tower Bay into one people ruling one empire. In this the first chapter of the Old Empire we shall therefore follow the life of this great man.

Remus Remus gathers all the Great Houses to form the Senate

January 1 of year 616 EM or year 0 OE

This marks the start of the Old Empire. Before the Imperatoria people had lived as a loosely formed confederacy, whit the smaller tribes being ruled by a dominant family*. Said tribes had at times in the past fought one another as much as other civilizations. But this marked the end of that tribalism and put down the bases of the Empires laws and governance.   This first meeting of the Senate decide much that would later become the foundation of the Empire. Tho it did handle some minor disputes between the Great Houses, that are of little interest to us living today. They did set down how their empire was to be governed. The senate was to be exclusively consisting of men from the Great Houses, that had shown their loyalty to the empire. Either by service to the legions, the imperial courts or a imperial university. All members of the senate would have to be elected to a post by the senate. So that if you had not impressed, or had bad contacts, you could not become a senator. Besides the senate, that ruled the Empire and the city of Imperiatum, was the Imperator. He was a sort of first senator and high general. His role was in essence that of the chairman of the senate and highest military leader of the empire. A role that was given for life and was first given to Remus Remus.

During that time no new Imperator was chosen by the senate and all senators would pay their respects to the dead Imperators family.
