Chronon Disrupted Lifeforms (Shifters)

All chronon activity ends with disruption when activity crosses the critical intensity threshold, when the activity intensity is so great that the active individual’s being suddenly collapses into the chronon field. Disruption transitions the active individual into a new being as a chronon-disrupted lifeform—or as it is colloquially called, a Shifter.
Shifters are quantum intelligences manifested from the chronon field. Their bodies are, in their native state, collections of chronons, and Shifters’ beings are superposistions of an infinite number of possible states across all spacetime. Shifters natively exist in the End of Time, and most of them react violently to flowing time. Some Shifters are able to focus their beings into a single state able to exist in flowing time.
Shifters are disconnected from humanity. They exist in a way that is inconceivable to classical thinking, and they usually cannot exist outside of zero states. Focused-state Shifters mostly seek only to ensure the decay of the chronon field to its ground state, ensuring that their kind will claim the world.
Shifters are able to control the chronon field easily, and in non-zero states of the chronon field, they are able to use all of the abilities available to chronon active individuals as well as a few additional ones.
Because of their being as a superposistion of states, Shifters are extremely difficult to kill, and they do not move in classical ways. Shifters’ bodies warp the local spacetime, exerting unpredictable forces on anything nearby.
