Order of the Black Fist

The Order of the Black Fist maintains the order in Phlan under the command of Lord Regent Ector Brahms. Their justice is however served by the sword and according to many their justice depends on one's ability to pay in gold to the corrupt watchmen. Members of the Black Fist have the ability to judge those they deem criminals and dispense harsh justice on the spot, everyone gives them a them fearful, wide berth.
The Order of the Black Fist was formerly a religious order dedicated to Bane. Despite the lack of a temple in Phlan (it was torched), the faith of Bane remains strong among the Black Fist.

Leader

The Knight Commander of the Black Fist, Ector Brahms, was declared the Lord Regent of Phlan in 1488 DR, upon the unexpected death of former Lord Protector Anivar Daoran.

Miscellaneous

The watchmen of the Black Fist patrol the streets of Phlan in groups of four but can call upon reinforcements when necessary. There are over 300 watchmen in Phlan and their base of operations is the massive Stojanov Gate.
Daerdal Spearwall was a member of the Black Fists but decided to leave when he realized how corrupted the organization really was.
