Strayhill
Strayhill is a small port town of a few thousand souls. It is mainly a port town on the northern coast of the Moonsea lake. The town is supported by a half dozen smaller villages, hamlets and twice that many farms within a day’s march.
The population is mainly human but there is also a large tiefling community located in the poor Lower West District and Beggar’s End. The tieflings carry simple jobs in town as unskilled labour, stevedores, ragpickers, harlots, street cleaners and are generally looked down upon .
Strayhill is ruled by an elected council of seven of the most influential and powerful residents of the town.
The Church of Umberlee has a strong seat of power in the town and their blue dressed priests and acolytes is a common sight.
Law and order is maintained by the City Watch or the Bluecloaks as they are called. Named so after their distinctive long blue coats. It is common that an acolyte or even sometimes a priest of Umberlee acompany the Bluecloak patrols.
The town currently very prosperous with extremely bountiful fishing, lucrative trade deals and a unique trade commodity: Scarlet-, Purple-, Green- and Black Night Poppies. The different coloured Night Poppies are used to craft unique drinks, tonics and medicinal elixirs. They are being exported throughout the Moonsea region and Strayhill is currently the only known producer of these flowers.
There is a 5 meter tall statue of woman with a crow's head and wings in the central square. The statue, known as the Crow Queen, is believed to be a long-forgotten deity.
