The Pink Pearl (tavern)

The Pink Pearl is a tavern located down in the sewers below the city. The tavern's main clientele are thieves, smugglers and other outcasts and denizens of the sewers. It also serves as the main meeting point for the city's thieves' guild. Thanks to the special qualities from the Pink Sewer Blossoms that grow naturally in the basin, there is no foul sewage smell in the tavern.
The Tavern is run by Madame Pink or The Pearl herself, an Half-orc and his three servitors.

Design

The Basin - When entering the Pink Pearl the first room is a very large chamber with central basin. In the basin, filled with sewage water, floats two dozen or more beautiful pink glowing flowers. Their natural glow illuminates the chamber in a faint pinkish light. A pathway around the basin leads to two small areas both to the north and the south, on the other side of the basin is a large area furnished with tables and chairs. Even further back is a wooden bar in front of a shelf with various spirits and wines.
The Bar - In this area is a large bar set with a five round wooden tables and chairs. A large candelabra hangs from the calling in a chain with a dozen candles. Behind the wooden bar are two well stocked shelves. Most spirits and wines can be find here at a reasonable rate. The Pink Lady himself is usally standing behind the bar with the rest of the personnel scurrying around to serve any patrons. Along the north wall are two wooden targets for dart or throwing daggers. A small tunnel leads east out into another area (the living quarters and passage way to the Thieves' Guild). Brak the half-ogre usually sits next the passage barring anyone from entering without permission.
The South Pathway - The south pathway opens up into a small chamber for more private tables. Each table is set with a small bowl of water with a glowing pink blossom. There are usually 1D4+2 patrons here talking in low voices.
The North Pathway - The north chamber is occupied by a large table where a fencer has set up his shop and buys and sells from various thieves frequenting the Pearl. Behind the fencer's table is a closed wooden door leading out into the sewers. The Fencer is here along with his two body guards.
The Living Quarters - A few rooms behind the bar are reserved for the Pink Lady and her staff. The Pearl's room is locked with a key that he carries on his person at all times.
Storage rooms - Storage for the bar. Barrels, sacks and wooden boxes are stacked along the walls.

Denizens

The Pink Pearl is home to the local thieves' guild and other criminals associated with the guild. Smugglers frequently stop by the Pearl after a completed run or just in order to check in with the Guild to see if there is any work available.

The Pearl's Personnel

• The Pink Lady - a large ugly half-orc man, dressed as woman in pink. Speaks with low growl and almost whisper. She manages the Pearl and is usually found behind the bar.
• Armren - a burly hill dwarf, usually bare-chested sporting several dwarven runic tattoos. Manages barrels and other heavy work,
• Hildreth - a young scarred maid. Half her face is ruined from acid, also destroyed her voice. Dressed in a plain dress with a black scarf around her neck and lower face.
• Welda - A stout halfling woman middle-aged. Red hair set in a large top-knot. Very friendly and outgoing. Slaps everyone men and women on their cheeks as she passes. Strong.

Bouncers

In addition to the bouncers below, there are always a number of Guild members in the tavern ready to help out if needed.

• Brak - a brutish and enormous half-ogre is the main doorman and bouncer. He always keeps a large silvered Maul in his hands. Communicates with grunts and nods. Totally loyal to the Pink Lady and secondarily to the Guild.
• Yasrena - a female tiefling sorceress that is never far from the Pink Lady.

Fence

The fence is an oft visited merchant down in the sewers. There are usually 1-2 shady thieves/pickpockets that are selling their catch of the day to Franja.

• Franja - human woman in her early forties. Dressed in a many-patched-merchant's outfit. She happily buys stolen gemstones or other valuables at 30-40% the original price. Member of the Guild.
• Asher - human male bodyguard. Dressed in ill-matched leather armour and two over-sized knives. He constantly smiles an almost toothless smile.
• Elsa - female human. Wearing studded leather in need of cleaning and maintenance. Extremely observant. Armed with a crossbow.

Special Properties

Undershine is served at the Pink Pearl.
Pink Sewer Blossoms Pink Sewer Blossoms grows down in the main sewage basin and floats on the water. They emit a faint pink glow and in addition they neutralise any foul odour in close proximity. When placed in dirty water, the Sewer Blossoms slowly clean the water they're in. The Pink Lady are cultivating these plants and also harvests them and puts them in small bowls around the establishment giving the sewer tavern unexpectedly odour free.
If the Pink Sewer Blossoms are removed they require sewage water (dirty water) or they will wither and die within a day.
