Welcomers

The Welcomers is Phlan's most powerful thieves' guild and they run a number of rackets from protection, housebreaking, fencing and assassination. They have their hands involved in most of the illegal activities that are happening around Phlan.
The Welcomers were once a band of simple thieves who preyed on those who visited Phlan, still they they aided and assisted the city in dire times over and over and thus were allowed to exist openly. With the death of the Lord Protector and the turmoil that has followed, the Lord Reagent has declared open season on the Welcomers and his Black Fist hunts them mercilessly. Now the Welcomers act from the shadows and lash out against their oppressors and those who would deny them their due; guards or guildsmen alike.
It is rumored that in order to become a full member of the Welcomers, a prospect will have to cut of his left ear.
