Petimon
Petimon is a backwater planet out of the way of major shipping lines. Without a major resource available to the Republic or the Empire, it served only as a minor military outpost.
People come to Petimon to hide, to live a quiet life. Far from the eyes of a galactic government, the localities run themselves, often butting heads against criminals who wish to gain a strategic foothold. Power often shifts between the two, to the point where the factions blend together, and the line between right and wrong is blurred.
Geography
Petimon is a planet of rolling hills and rolling fog. The air pressure is low enough for rain never to form, so water condenses as just fog and mist ever-coating the land. Villages and towns built on Petimon must conform with the rugged terrain. Lakes and rivers carve through the land forming large islands.
History
Long ago, the High Republic seemed to find value on this planet, as evidenced by a lone outpost set up near the town of Verrock
No one at present knows the reason why they set up this outpost. Perhaps there was a now-exhausted resource on the planet. Maybe it had some strategic importance to them. Or perhaps there was a religious importance to it. Only time will tell.
Tourism
Petimon is a destination only for those who wish to leave their past behind and start anew. As such, the planet does not receive many visitors. However, to keep the planet supplied, a meager starport was established in the town of Verrock, so that merchants could land and sell their goods. Verrock is the only location on the planet with a suitably flat zone for landing spacecraft.
