Mandalore
Mandalore was a planet located in the Outer Rim Territories. It was the homeworld of the Mandalorians, a fearsome warrior people who fought the Jedi and raided their temple during the fall of the Old Republic. Wearing distinctive armor that was often made from Beskar, they were feared throughout the galaxy, and had political influence over two thousand other star systems.
Years of war left the planet inhospitable, forcing the Mandalorians to live within domed cities. A pacifist regime came to power at the end of these wars, led by Duchess Satine Kryze, who joined the Galactic Republic. While those who refused to give up their warrior ways were exiled to the moon Concordia.
During the Clone Wars, the New Mandalorians were overthrown by the renegade Sith Lord Maul's Shadow Collective, though the Galactic Empire would rule the planet after the war's end.
Geography
Mandalore was a terrestrial planet located in the Mandalore system, a part of the Mandalore sector in the New Territories portion of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories. It was positioned at the coordinates O-7 on the Standard Galactic Grid with the closest trade route to the world being the Hydian Way. Mandalore occupied the fifth orbit around its eponymous yellow sun[4] and had a rotational period of nineteen standard hours, and its standard year lasted three hundred and sixty-six standard days. The planet possessed standard gravity and two moons, including the one time mining base and agricultural center, Concordia.
The planet had a hot and dry climate, though it was once hospitable enough to hold life and let a race of people thrive. The planetary surface was once lush with jungles, forests, seas, mountains, and jewel-colored lakes, but has been turned into a lifeless desert after years of civil war. Mandalorians live in bio-cubes, large cities that are surrounded by a massive dome that shelters the inhabitants from the deadly weather and climate of the outer world.
