Krueth
A "helpful sigil", Krueth was first called into existence during the first part of Alfonso's adventure in the world of After the End. Seeing his new friend Barnabas was under attack from two strangers, the five-year-old did the only thing he could think of -- purchasing an option from his bracer that started with the letters "H-E-L-P..." He unwittingly combined a symbol of a serpent, drawn from the cover of a holy book of the Chorus of Divine Wings with the so-called malevolent goo produced when he had accidentally read from an enchanted book associated with the angels, mysterious beings closely linked with the god Rixis. Thus was created Krueth -- a small, jet black snake formed from the non-newtonian angel slime.
Krueth has a sharp tongue and cynical attitude, but embodies the values of the Chorus of Divine Wings, who protect the weak, despise vice and corruption, and call down angels to destroy those who cause unnecessary loss of life. He had two main abilities as follows:
-To provide guidance to Alfonso, particularly in situations where the youngster would struggle to act independently. He draws upon the knowledge contained the books involved in his creation.
-If Alfonso places blood on Krueth's head, then he is temporarily transformed into the shape of a much larger king cobra, complete with blood-tinged angel wings. In this form, he is able to swiftly dispatch anyone who Alfonso choses.
