Xochiyotli
Capital of the Union of Xotlac, and its most ancient city.
The city itself is said to have been constructed with the help of an Icon, and its waterways filled by another. A great many myths past its construction swirl around the city (then again, what city as old as Xochiyotli can't claim such a storied history?) from what lay in the depths of the city's ancient sewer to ancient stashes of treasure in particular abodes.
A personal favorite is the water spirits that are said to live within its canals and hanging gardens, everybody of liquid being said to house at least one spirit and having arrived at the city by flowing with the waters that travel down from the top of Mount Mecayo and into the Mouth of Chalichu, which then flows out into the various waterways that exist within the city. I just find it adorable.
Those same waterways are the lifeblood of the city. They feed hanging gardens that delight and feed the populace, and form canals that transport both men and material to every corner of the city. There are even some that flow completely out of sight beneath the streets and houses, acting as a sewer and carrying the waste out of the city. So advanced were these structures when they were first built that the Xupantla can lay claim to some of the oldest bathhouses and even the first concept of showers.
