Several air-fleets of the Old Empire, now flying under the banner of differing Great Wyrms chase each other across the Heartless Waves and grind each other to dust as they fight in the skies above the Pilgrim Lands.

Ater the battles, the survivors found themselves left behind with little hope that they would be rescued. They were in a foreign and unfamiliar land, and allies were few and far between.   One of the first orders of business was that the opposing fleets broke down many of the barriers between themselves when they met, making cooperation easier.   Then they encountered the natives of the Pilgrim Lands, which resulted in touch-and-go relations for a time, but the aid rendered by the natives ingratiated the survivors, and over time they integrated or formed societies of their own, which have evolved into the nations of the Farcast Union we know today.
