Impaler

This long spear can also serve as a lance.  Unlike other weapons made by Harbinger Arms, it is conspicuously lacking a bladed edge of any kind.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The impaler is perverse in action.  When it successfully strikes a target, it causes Unstoppable Bleeding, not by slicing the flesh of its victim, but by shunting it to another dimension.  When activated by its wielder with the expenditure of 2 PPE or ISP, the tip of the weapon goes out of phase with its current dimension, going partly into a parallel dimension.  This enables it to occupy the same time and space as the target's body, at which point it returns to its wielder's dimension, shifting that portion of the victim's body occupied by the spear tip out of phase in its place.  As a result, this is considered a Mega-damage attack with an armor penetration of 16.  Victims of Impaler attacks tend to look like swiss cheese.
Whenever it causes a bleed effect, it also drains the target of power equivalent to the Drain Power Points power.  Successful vampiric action does not feed the wielder, but instead charges the weapon.  It can hold up to 10 PPE gained in this manner for use in activating the phasing effect of the spear point.  PPE gained this way will dissipate at the end of battle.

Rarity

Rare.  Less than a hundred of these have ever been made.  While they are all similar, each is unique in finish and decoration.
