Thogboldir
Oldschool dwarves, but instead settled in forests along with Khenthiad, but they are different?
Kharad-Oud, The Gift
During the last wars of the Marauder King, Benalon I Ulanala, the Dwarves of the Orimid Empire found themselves under siege. Benalon's host sat encamped at the mouth of the Vales. To their southern coast, corsairs of some local pirate lord hunted the waters for Orimid ships like a shark in teeming waters. While nearby Thertodur was facing similar problems with the Aelve's Second Host, led by Dovere Ulanala, the Kingdom of Khenthiad refused to send aid, relations long soured by their shunning of the old Dwarven ways. It was only neighboring Thogboldir, who, while they had similarly begun to embrace the new religion and cultures of the Dwarvensun, still held some kinship to their neighbors. It was thanks to the delivery of food and military aid from Togboldir, was the Empire able to persist. This was acknowledged even by the Dwarven Emperor himself. A great debt was owed, and a great debt would be paid. This debt came to be paid in full with the gift of Kharad-Oud. A range of mountains in the Vales of Horakh-Dhrum. While many of Thogboldir had begun to embrace a life outside of the mountains, those who clung to the old ways flocked to the mountains of Kharad-Oud in celebration. The gift has allowed for Thoboldir to exist in both worlds comfortably, and the mountain paths connecting Kharad-Oud to the Vales has allowed for mutually beneficial trade relations between the Kingdom and the Empire.
