Incursion Into Rudora (524-528)

Campaigns in Southern Rudora (524-526)

In the Summer of 524 with two great hosts, the united tribes of Illalor poured through the Rudoran Gaps. The northern host led by Dovere Ulanala pushing north towards Arluck and the southern host, led by Benalon I Ulanala himself pushed into Conteign. The Northern Host was blunted by the Lord of Arluck Denyll Forn, whose decades of experience withstanding raiding parties from Illalor had him well suited for the attack.
In Conteign however, a different story unfolded, the Lord of Conteign being taken completely unaware. Benalon however, did not stop to capture Conteign but instead pushed north into the surrounding villages terrorizing, razing and reaving his way through the country side before dissapearing into the eastern forests. When the Conteignois army marched into the forests, it was the elite cavalrymen and pyromancers of the Flames of Karaban that set fire to the forest. A terrible massacre of men and horse that concluded with the death of the Lord himself during the battle. A general retreat was sounded and the fleeing troops were allowed to flee back for Conteign as the Aelves patrolled the roads and remaining woods for any messengers.
All seemingly went as planned in the south, but the northern host, with their continued troubles allowed for word to get back to Old Rudora and to the King himself. With winter approaching, the king called raised his levys, and using what little money remained in the already drained Rudoran Coffers, hired Mercenary Companies. From Amanora, the Bastard's Bane and from the Thanedom of Bharbadihr, The Sunshield Company.
As the new year dawned, Dovere's host, now empowered with reinforcements from his brother surrounded Arluck. As his brother sent raiding parties into the farms of southern Rudora to supply the siege, hunger set in on the people of Arluck. 526

Subjugation of the Coast (529)

During the early years of the 5th century, the Coast of Glass was volatile time, piracy ran rampant through the Sea of Spiced Winds as various Dwarven Sealords harassed any merchant vessels trying to sail westwards and taxes imposed upon Frensari goods by the Kingdom of Rudora made eastward trade unviable. At the same time, new Khanates stirred in the Great Dorei, past the western mountains. The Confederacy was being juiced from all sides, and it was only then, that in 516, that Gromzug erupted and devestating what little harvest the coast could produce. It was in these bleak years, that Benalon Ulanala approached the council.
With his brother bringing stability in Rudorei, Benalon, at the head of his great host approached the city of Frensara. With him, his host included several supply trains of food, taken from Rudoran farms. An offering was made to the council, to join or be left to die a slow ignoble death. "My armies surround the city, the seas rebuke you, and the Great Dorei threatens to consume you. There is a greatness that awaits you if you but accept." The council asked to treat with Benalon in his camp, and after several hours of private discussion, they exited as new subjects of what Benalon proclaimed as The Empire of Great Benalor
