The Merkas Highlands are a large mountain range, southeast of Upper Zagesi and northwest of Lower Zagesi, where they hold the sweltering heat and drought of The Daga-Kurum Desert at bay. Besides that, they are also known to be rich in gemstones, particularly amethyst and turquoise.
