Tartaran Jail

The Jailhouse of Tartaran was built under the ground as the foundation for the Barracks. Here is where Tartaran's murderers, thugs, and other criminals have been locked up to pay for their crimes.

Purpose / Function

The jailhouse is where criminals in the town are placed for their crimes.

Architecture

The jail is constructed of stone walls buried underneath the ground. The cells located by the jails outer walls are the only access to natural light down here. The jail cells are made of sturdy iron and there are many drain trenches dug to filter out the feces and urine from the prisoners.

History

The Jail was constructed underground to act as the foundation for the Barracks. Construction of this structure began in 5063 AC before beginning the construction of the Barracks. Before construction of the jail or Barracks criminals were instead exiled from the city and to be killed if they attempted to return. This seemed barbaric to many so the construction of the jail was decided by not only the nobles and mayor but also by public vote.
