Astones
Astones was the home of the Icarus Militarum and parts of the planet are still ruled by the remnants of the organization. Now most of the planet's population lives on the subtropical equator with early industrial levels of technology. The majority of the small city states still retain a military leadership structure.
Metal Trade
Astones is rich in metal deposits and has a large industry around the mining and refining those useful to their low level of technology.
The majority of the rare metals that they are unable to refine and use are left undisturbed, although there are some mines that trade them with the remains of the Icarus Militarum and some have even begun trading with the few outsiders that make it to Antino.
Icarus Militarum
The Icarus Militarum was a large scale military company in the pre-Scream era that occupied Astones along with their non-military support staff. They were positioned to defend against the occasional alien invasions in its previous sector.
After the Scream, the Icarus Militarum began to fall apart as it's members and support staff began to live civilian lives. Their descendants fell further from the Militarum, and it was left as a shell of its former self.
A still sizable remnant of the Militarum exists with a much higher technological level in the arctic regions to the north of the worlds' equator. They often trade with the populations of the world for rare metals they can then process themselves.
