boys are hand-picked from Podlaska and surrounding villages to be trained from a very young age to be the perfect warrior. Women are also capable warriors in their own right; girls are taught mandatory close combat training in the education system, including the use of spears and short swords. Loyalty to Podlaska is paramount, with every citizen willing to die to protect the city from any threat. If you are deemed unworthy of the Podlaska military, you are then assigned to other labour jobs, such as farming. In times of strife and desperation, the entire population of Podlaska can be utilised as an effective army, which is a huge reason why the city has never fallen to its enemies.
Public Agenda
Loyalty to their own city and people are beyond anything else, and if an invasion by a foreign superpower occurred, all alliances between them and the other houses would be forgotten in favour of defending Podlaska.
There is no doubt about the integrity and honour of the Augustyns. They will defend their allies fiercely, make war on their enemies with terrifying strength and cunning, but make no mistake; Podlaska comes first.

History
Around 200 years ago, House Woda was the subject of an invasion by a strange foreign force, originating from the Forest of Mrok. These strange people favoured the use of ranged weaponry, something the Augustyns were experts at defeating. When details of this invasion were made known to the Augustyns, they didn’t hesitate to send a massive army to aid Woda. The foreigners were so soundly defeated, that they haven’t attacked with any significant force since.
