Kog

"There used to be so many of them. There wouldn't be a time that I would see an empty lake up here, or down here. Now though? It pains me to see that they may only be available to those who bought them all. I'll get them back here, one way or another,"
- Nephalia Celibrig, Ruler of the Cellibrig Region
The Kog, is a bizarre combination of a Koi fish and a frog, that lived within the Cellibrig region of the Graceswift Kingdom, before Court into Kingdom , making it a widely recognised animal of the Cellibrig Courts. It was known for it's tame approach towards humanoids, and made for great pets. However, this'd be the ultimate downfall, as the Cellibrig customs and culture would have it be that the adolescents of the land would have a Kog as a pet, for a few years, before giving them to another generation. The issue was that the wild population would dwindle as the domesticated Kogs would grow, which eventually resulted in the only population of this fascinating creature being seen in the homes of those wealthy enough to take of them. There has been few attempts to bring back to the wilds, but ultimately, one day, it may happen.
A kog is a weird amalgamation of aquatic creatures, in the size of a regular frog, with gills and the innards of a Koi fish. Nobody knows where the Kogs came from, or whatever they were made from, but they have been a staple in the Cellibrig culture, and ultimately the Graceswift Kingdom itself, for hundreds of years. Cellibrig festivals are often given aspects to do with the Kog, many see it as a good luck charm, to bring ahead days of fortune by carrying them in glass bowls across the settlements. They are docile, but have a basic understanding of concepts such as food, rest, bonding, and hate. It does take a lot for a Kog to decide to hate somebody, but if that path is ever crossed, the Kog will not stop until either one of them is far away from the other, even in death. Unluckily for them, the Kog does not possess any form of damage towards a humanoid, as they are too small. Their bites are more like pin-pricks, and any attempt to use their weight is treated as a form of humour for some of the Cellibrig half-elves.
One common theory of the origin of the Kog is that they came from a mutated frog that had lived within a lake not too far from the Graceswift area. Known as the Great Kog, this large amphibian was known for it's frightful appetite, and capabilities both in and out of the water. A local settlement would often have to send food to it, to keep it from running rampant. The one time it ran too far away however, it got trapped on a newly-formed floating island within the Cellibrig area. It's death caused for many smaller Kogs to swim in the small ponds on this island, and eventually, they spread across all of Cellibrig.
