Pillarmen

"We do what we must. Is there a reason why you question me? Do you not understand that I have done what you do, and that I have risen up, as you will, and that I am above you? Does rank not matter to a man-child like you? I could have you executed for this! Filthy, hulking, wench..."
- Nobleman Akiros, leader of the 'Pillarmen'
Within Lydgartha, The Myriad's Tomb is guarded through complete blind will by soldiers across the lands. Who they report to, however, are nicknamed by any who see them as Pillarmen. Their real name, not communicated to anybody else but themselves and other higher-ups, are known as the Myriad's Gatekeepers. Their role is to make sure that the Myriad would never escape, and if they did, that the most important would be saved. Often being nobles themselves, these Gatekeepers are degrading to their servants and employees. Not many other nobles, outside of Lydgartha, regard these nobles as like them. They are not invited to formal occasions, and quite a few have been blacklisted and even banished from other lands, including the former Court of Colmar, hundreds of years ago. Not many assassination attempts are seen as acts against the nobles in Lydgartha. These powerful fiends are not considered as famous enough to be considered assassinated.
Nobody else truly knows of The Myriad's Tomb , the nobles are quite good at keeping it a secret. It does not stop many from hating them however, due to how ruthless they allow their soldiers to be with anybody. Lower than them in society.

The guardsmen, or commonly known as The Executioners, are powerful fighters donned in dark, metallic armour, each given a heavy axe to deter the public from getting close to the smaller obelisks. They are told that it is a matter of grave disrespect to the higher-ups, and that they should killed upon getting close. Not even they know about the truth behind this landmark. Sometimes these guards ask questions about why they do what they do, but they are quickly silenced, often told that their job is easy to do, and they are paid a lot to keep their mouths shut and their weapons brandished. Their leader is Royal Captain Tervo, but even he does not know the full extent of why they do what they do. All he knows is that there is evil behind these towers, and that they must not be interacted with, lest they wish for an apocalyptic event. Ironically enough, Tervo's weapon of choice are two gauntlets infused with powerful FlameStone , often mimicking the burning sensation that arrives once struck by the Myriad itself. Those above him that know of the Myriad often mock him behind his back, for this shred of irony. Ultimately though, they know the risks of the Myriad, and often keep themselves strictly serious on debates on it, or even in reference to it. Their parent organisation, the Pillarmen, do not fulfil many of their requests.
