Sir Galahad, Lone Knight

"You were always eager to follow in my footsteps, never hesitant to any hurdle that stopped you from getting to where you are now. A true Galahad. Time for you to walk your own path of adventure. Go save the world, Roxanne,"
- Lord Galahad, to his daughter.
The most isolated member of the Twelve Lords of the Lands, Galahad is a knight that is known across the Thevagon Isles as being a devout warrior who fights for peace. His land is known as a sacntuary, especially from those who were members of the Lancein Infantry once it became more militiant, thanks to the manipulation of Lancelittle. His forces kept from brandishing the purple and black colours to signify Lancelot, The Former King. As well as not showcasing those colours, Galahad had informally split his region from the agreement of the Twelve Lords of the Lands. His allegiance now belongs to nobody, and he is a simple Knight, protecting his home.
Galahad is a human knight, who has a slight tan to his skin, along with scruffy, dirty blonde hair. Well shaven, the warrior, despite keeping up a good routine for his face, rarely removes his helmet except when he enters a private domacile. He either takes it off for comfort, or for sincerity and for the value of removing a helmet as a social norm, whenever entering or staying in a home for a prolonged period of time. His armour, plate mail, forged and made to the colours of leaf green, is an homage to Galahad's adolescence. The current knight was once a nomad. He lived within the dense forests of countless islands, continuously migrating from each region to another in search of a potential place to settle down. Animal in nature, Galahad at the time was nameless. No name was needed if the only things that knew of his existence was the predators of the forests and coves he travelled to. It was only once he found Lord Ector de Brias , during a deadly storm, that he was given solitude and relief from the harsh outskirts on Lancelot's Island. There, with hesitation due to the new environment, Galahad learnt diplomacy and etiquette, along with basic education, turning to advanced smithing and eventually into a valiant warrior.

Galahad bolsters a battleaxe of might, one imbued with magical energy that increases his strength. With a single strike, he is capable of defeating dozens at once. It holds a natural glow along the sharp edges, which can also exhaust fumes that can blind opponents. Those bearing the Galahad name, through signet or succession, are immune to such conditions. Examples of signets include crests, weaponry, badges, uniform, as well as symbols of gratitude and love personally chosen by Galahad, including the wedding ring he had given to his wife. This weapon, alike to Lancelot and Ector's, holds value in creating the Great Machine. Galahad was more than happy to turn it over once it was necessary to. His time within the Lancein Kingdom was strenous and awful for him. Yet, he persisted. The soldier became a knight, and soon enough earned the title of a Lord of the Isles. With that, came his Keep. A smaller island, in scale to the others, enough for a castle, small town, and the first region he remembered coming from. Nicknamed Galahad's Keep, due to the striking originality he held both before and after his leaving of the Twelve Lords of the Isles, the building was Galahad and his family's home for decades, as he became a dauntless warrior, tactician, and commander.
As a member of the Lord of the Isles, Galahad would not interact with his fellow Lords often. Mostly, during his journeys of heroics under the name of Lancelot, Galahad took lone adventures, but under one quest, to dispatch a wyvern who had been causing trouble within a distant town, he had enlisted the help of the Rune Knight Bors. The two managed to dispatch the Wyrm and save the town, years before Galahad removed himself from the position. Since then, the two have had an unspoken friendship, often aiding each other until both the removal of Galahad and Bors' vicious illness. Not many of the other lords conversed with Galahad, he was a simple knight and would only report to Lancelot. Once he passed, Galahad did give consolidation and sympathy to Lancelittle through a messenger, but that messenger was killed by Degore, one of the other Knights that were a part of the Lords of the Isles. His message of good nature never made it to Lancelittle, or any other individual in the main castle.
Because his message did not make it to the castle, he would never learn of the corruption caused by Lancelittle, meaning those with joint loyalty to Galahad and the Lancelot line would be torn between the two. With no plans on incentives on Galahad's side, many defected back to Lancein ways, including an alchemist advisor by the name of Edfil. Edfil would pledge allegiance to both Lancelittle during his corruption and mind control, followed by Malus, the Charred Colossus, directly. When Galahad found out, he made sure to have Edfil killed. Edfil had prepared for this, though, and within the former dungeons of the main Keep would he hold Roxanne Galahad, his daughter, hostage. It brought, ultimately, a battle between both sides, of the loyalists and defectors. Many were slaughtered, but it saved the life of Roxanne Galahad, alongside causing Galahad to actively go against both the Lancein armies, not Lancelittle himself, and Malus.
After the skirmish, Roxy would go with the trio that saved her, Riree, Gormand, and Grog, to stop as many of the Lords of the Isles as possible, the ones that still worked within the Lancein Armies. Galahad himself bolstered his infantry, and aided The Coalition to the best of his ability.

Social

Reign

Galahad received his keep not too long after meeting his soon-to-be wife. His decade-long rule would be amplified when he left the Lords of the Isle, and became an independent faction. His rule was gratified by many and it caused undying loyality or anger between either side of the Thevagon Isles. He still rules over the keep to this day.

Contacts & Relations

The closest contact, outside of his family, that Galahad still keeps in contact with in case of emergencies, like when he joined the Coalition, is with Thaquorous Alexo. His contact within the Adadis Courthall is one of the greatest bonds he holds. The two have joined forces against Malus, the Charred Colossus, and often each other advice during their schemings within the Guildhall. After Lancelittle was rescued from the claws of Malus, both of the tacticians had given the boy education and activities to keep his mind from going back to the fact that he is in a warzone.
Before his disease, and deterioration of his consciousness, Bors and Galahad were good friends. The same could be said for Lancelot and the Green Knight.

Family Ties

After the passing of his wife, Galahad formed a closer bond than he already had to his only child, a daughter by the name of Roxanne Galahad.

Wealth & Financial state

Galahad, nowadays, is upper-class to the scale of all of the Thevagon Isles. He owns heavy armour, a keep, along with a longship that he used to travel between the islands. Other than that though, he does not commit any reckless spendings, or impulsive buys. He is a simple man, and only buys things that he knows his close friends and family will use.

History of Galahad's Axe

A battleaxe with green metal used to signify his origin, Galahad's axe is magical in nature. It holds a key portion to the Great Machine. It was forged by one of the many smiths of the Lancein smithing industry. It was out of instinct when Galahad grabbed onto it during his first journey into other parts of the city he'd grow up in. Originally, he wished to pass it on to his daughter, but after she asked for him to sacrifice it in order to stop Malus, the Charred Colossus, he gave it up without any further thought.
The axe itself was imbued with Wrathful Smite, a spell that he had used against opponents that were aligned as evil. The magical bounds within the blade allowed for three charges to be expelled per short rest, and Galahad used them conservatively with the main goal of taking out large threats with them. He's been observed using it against Siege Ogres and Draconians coming from Zorpindral's Fortress. Devastating strikes and unwavering wounds come from the axe. Although the Knight's fighting style was more defensive and oriented around protecting allies, compared to his daughter's go-lucky, carefree form to her combat made it so that the effects of the axe would always be better fitted for her.

Lord Galahad's Axe

Weapon (Battleaxe), rare (Requires attunement)   Used by Lord Galahad himself. This axe was used to smite purgers of justice and perverters of goodness.
This weapon was three charges. After successfully hitting an enemy with Lord Galahad's Axe, you may expend a charge to cast Wrathful Smite on the same target, at third level. 1d4 charges are replenished after every short rest.

Commander of Many

Galahad is a powerful warrior, but a more powerful strategist and leader. He holds command over his infantry, of course, alongside some unique mercanaries and heroes who have joined in onto his entourage of heroics. The common rank for those that follow him is the Galahadian Squire, which goes up in rank to the Galahadian Captain. They all wear green armour, usually a mix of half plate and chain mail, donning a flexible helmet with an open visor, alongside a mace and roundshield in order to fend off their most common enemy, being sword-wielding Lancein warriors, or the long-clawed Draconians of the nearby Zorpindral settlement. Their shields are capable of absorbing the blows of enemies, followed up by locking them in place, if they pierced or slashed through parts of the shield. These warriors are experienced, and hold great merit. Even the footsoldiers, or squires, in their case, are knwon for being rather deadly warriors. Most of them came from nomadic regions that Galahad had already travelled to, and joined their leader due to that bond that he would've given already.
The Galahadian Captain wears a fashionable cloak and insignia on their breastplate in order to signify the rank they hold. They are usually trained with both an axe and a mace, and are relatively intelligent in the field of strategy and combat. It takes a couple years to raise to this rank, and it comes with plenty of responsibility. If a captain is behaving unfairly to their subordinates, or is rude to any other member of both the Galahad Keep, then they are likely to be demoted to Squire. Galahad is rather strict on the members with authority in his castle.
