Personal history

Born to a worker of The Silver Touch she grew up fast, taught by the group. She never found out who her father was. 
Always a hopeless romantic she set out on her own in her teens, choosing to forge a different path for herself. She got a job gardening at the university. It was here that she met Melinoe Alinas, a woman who she had an intense love affair with before Melinoe left to return home. Sylvia fought for her to stay, or to go with her but by this point she had moved into the clergy of Scent and Melinoe was stubborn about them not letting such things disturb their chosen paths.
Sylvia lamented her loss, wistfully thinking back on those days as she climbed the ranks of the church. When she heard about what had happened at Scorchfront she instantly thought of her lover and her stubbornness. After hearing nothing of her since she has assumed her death at the hands of the decree and mourns her intently. 
She hopes that if she works hard enough to please Scent she may share some otherworldly way to bring her love back to her. Otherwise she devotes herself to the church and maintaining the local plant life.
She has adopted a changeling, Arlo Teite who she found wandering a ruin out in the wilds when she was on a foraging mission years before rising to her current rank. She knows they mean well in their attempts to infiltrate and learn in the palace but she worries for them and hopes desperately to protect them from whatever is coming.
