Icebreaker Corsairs
These goblinoids were once nomadic clans and they still use the institution of caste. But they have also adopted many practices from the Freeborn Islanders, effectively the corsairs are pirates and raiders, born from a mixture of these two cultures. The castes have changed to better reflect life at sea and the orcs among them fully participate in the system. The Orcs are the sailors, the Hobgoblins are boarders, Goblins work the rigging and Bog Goblins are Whalers.
The Corsairs operate special Icebreaker ships, designed to navigate the narrows between icebergs and breakthrough ice sheets. Admiral Hurulx Khan is the ruler of the corsairs, most of the year he lives in Bounties Berth, but in raiding season he brings together all the Corsairs for large raids. The raiding Season is late spring and early summer when the ice is soft enough for the icebreakers to penetrate it but solid enough to prevent the fleets of the Feudal Nations from pursuing them. In raiding season, the corsairs steal enough food and supplies from the coasts to ensure they can make it through another year.
The corsairs do not survive on raiding alone, they also hunt fish, whales and seals especially during the deep winter months when raiding is not an option.
