Lunar Clergy

The religion of the Feudal nations is very structured in a church hierarchy known as the Clergy. All members of the clergy must be clerics, this is distinct from Priesthoods who have far less restrictive conditions.   There is in reality, two clergies one which represents all the Solar Gods and one which represents the Lunar Gods. Naturally, they both are intense rivals of the other. The distribution of these clergies is highly geographical and change with the respective popularity of the Solar and Lunar Gods of each nation, but overall, the Solar Clergy is far larger than the Lunar counterpart.   The clergy has a highly organised structure and operates internationally across all Achandia and its missions in the Sundering Seas and Farnelia. Each cleric manages a Diocese, an area of land wherein the cleric maintains a temple and has authority in religious matters, clerics of lower rank are subordinates and answerable to higher-ranking clerics.   Whilst the clergy represents an entire pantheon of gods, each cleric within it only represents a specific Patron God. Bishops with different patron gods often exist within the same diocese, each preaching their specific god and maintaining a temple to them. But Archbishops tend to run large cathedrals dedicated to all the gods of the pantheon and containing chapels and bishops to all the gods.   Outside this direct hierarchy of clerics there are others within the clergy such as monks who do not preach the religion but instead practice a stricter version of the dogma and often spend their days in secluded monasteries practising meditation, work and perfection of self, this often involves a martial art.
