Flechette Weapons

Flechette weapons are ballistic ranged weapons loaded with ferrofluid-assisted, chemically accelerated rounds, made with a variety of chemical compounds and metals to create highly specialized, highly dangerous ammunition.
Flechettes are most commonly seen as heavy assault weapons, one step up from standard slug weaponry.

Access & Availability

These firearms are very commonly found with infantrymen in the TCRTA and TCRMC, as well as coaxials on ground vehicles, and upscaled variants are seen as close-in weapons systems with the TCRN.
It is illegal for a civilian to own a flechette weapon within the TCR.

Complexity

Flechette weapons are arguably just as straightforward as slug weapons, albeit with the ammunition being a lot simpler. Flechettes are self-contained, releasing no spent shells when fired. Their accelerators and miniscule guidance packages are fully built into the individual rounds.

Discovery

Flechette weapons were developed in their most primitive form in 2029, when the human-invented propellant compound known as CX-18 was developed and put into action with the then-United States military. This quickly spread to the country's allies as well as its enemies, and is considered a catalytic force in the Third World War.

Manufacturing

Flechette weapons are mass produced alongside all other military hardware used by the TCR's Armed Forces.
