Fury of Belaroth
This fury was once the ancestral longsword of the Belaroth family. It is said to have belonged to Eranthiel Belaroth the viceroy of the island in the 1st century BIC. Since then it had been passed through the family line. In the chaos of the Imperial downfall the sword was lost to the sea. The Belaroths lost power on the island soon afterwards.
For centuries the Belaroth's were but low nobility. Few thought much of the once powerful family before the elven occupation of the island. Under Amellianus Fabii "Rex" hard rule stories began to be told of how one day a Belaroth would draw the lost sword from the ocean, and herald in a new age of pieous and prosperous Belaroth rule on Ciello.
In the waning days of the occupation this prophecy turned to truth, as sea elves granted the blade to Edwyn Belaroth, then a lowly landed knight. He participated in the siege of Cunaris, and was placed in charge of the city when Lord Aldershall took the town. Later he rebelled against his master, and established the Duchy of Cunaris, with the Fury of Belaroth emblazoned on his shield, then and forever after forming part of the house crest.
The sword was lost in the 7th century when it fell out of a cart when the "Old Duke" was travelling along the North Road. It was only returned fifteen years later by a humble farmer Giorgio, who was elevated to knighthood for this deed.
In modern times it was used by Ethan Belaroth to slay the witch Tanith. It was broken in the process, and is once more lost.
