Jannus of Oldport

Blademaster Jannus

Jannus of Oldport is a bladesinger in the employ of Duke Medwyn Belaroth. He instructed the children of the duke, and the various nobles who were fostered at Castle Treori along with them.
Jannus was born in Axendria. His half-elf heritage prevented him from entering the University to develop his talents. As a result he left for Penrith in the free cities, where he apprenticed under one of the city's mages. Thereafter he turned adventurer, and made his name by defeating the Tyranos of Oldport in a duel, on behalf of the heir of the old prince. 
Following that exploit he retired from adventuring. He entered the duke of Belaroth's service in the 990s and has remained loyal to the family ever since.
