Veronica de Madruzzo is the third child of the Marquess Madruzzo. She is regarded as a fine scholar and archeologist. Her research focuses primarily on Ciello's pre-elven-invasion history.

Personal history

Veronica was born in Merata , among slowly crumbling ruins that are all that remains of the elven occupation of Ciello. She developed an early fascination with the past. At an early age her tutors would find her digging in the castle courtyard "looking for artefacts".
When she was twelve she was sent to Cunaris to act as lady in waiting to Aurelia Belaroth. Meanwhile her parents opened preliminary negotiations regarding her potential marriage to Ethan Belaroth. These negotiations were mysteriously suspended in 1007 IC. Veronica left Cunaris soon thereafter and returned to Merata. 
In 1012 she accompanied mages of the Ciello Circle Tower to the outskirts of Hommark. They surveyed the area, with the intention of determining if the area was suitable for settlement. A secondary motivation was to find ancient dwarven artefacts. The expedition eventually found that the area was too dangerous for human habitation.
