The Other

The Other is the cosmic antagonist that the Parents inform the main characters of in the visual novel. An extra dimensional being, not unlike the Parents themselves, that consumes something related to sapient life within the known universe. The Other is described in a way that suggests it is not one single entity, using them to describe the type of life known as the Other.
Legends have it that haunted spaces are the tendrils of the Other from previous attempts of reaching into the known universe. According to various Siblings, it is thought that un-explainable phenomena are concentrated aspects of the Other that manifest as malicious entities to sapients seeking emotional responses, which the Other consumes. Not much is truly known about the Other as many different characters speculate about the nature of the entity throughout the novel.
Described by Neferu as an entity that spreads through the universe every few billion years and is distinctly different from the seed of life that spawned all known sapients. Neferu illustrates the Other as more of a machine than an organism.
