Arilin Lundor
Guildmaster Arilin Lundor
Having lived some centuries himself, Arilin has learned a great deal of patience and just how best to teach his personal apprentices. However, that hasn't stopped this hearty Gnome from keeping a constant air of delight and wonder in all things. But don't let his demeanor fool you; when it comes to serious matters or discussions of important works, he can just as easily switch his tone and dive headfirst into what must be done and how. As one might expect from a presiding Guildmaster, he is quite ambitious and is always working; whether that be teaching, managing, or simply tinkering away in his study when he is not needed elsewhere.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Short, yet strong. Arilin gives of an aura of importance, skill, and knowledge everywhere he goes. He walks straight and proudly through the halls of the guild, often wearing simple clothes and gloves with tinkering gear strapped to his sides.
Body Features
Standing at just over 3', Arilin is built quite largely for a Gnome, his work requiring great strength and dexterity to perform well and feverously. Despite his age being easily noticed by his predominately white hair and old face, he is extremely spry.
Apparel & Accessories
Arilin is easily identified by the amount of gear he carries at any given moment. Straps and belts holding tools and pouches all over his hip and side, even goggles rest ontop his head. However, the most noticable thing is a sort of harness he always has on no matter the situation with the Moonforge insignia across its leather.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Arilin was born on a small vessel out at sea, some halfway between the mainland and Arsura. His family sought a better life on the volcanic island, and once they arrived at Edogate, settled down. There, he spent his beginning years in the city walls but soon would seek out new and exciting experiences. He would go on to travel the country, from its vast mountain ranges to its volcanic flats and everywhere in between, soaking up everything he was taught along the way.
One day, a relatively young Arilin would find himself in the capitol, Nefral, sharing a drink with a very old and very peculior Vedalken. After some time the two became quite acquanted, and after some deliberation, would head back to Edogate together, where the Vedalken would go on to introduce Arilin to Moonforge.
Having already picked up some trades along his travels, Arilin was a natural in the guild. He went through many Mentors before none were left who suited his capabilities, leading the Guildmaster at the time to step in, the very same Vedalken whom he first met. The two would develop a Mentor-Apprentice relationship alongside their friendship, working in tandem as the Guildmaster poured all his life's works into Arilin.
Many, many years down the line, the Vedalken would grow too weak to continue his duties and would appoint Arilin as his successor. Within a few years, Arilin grew accustomed to his new position. There shortly after, the Vedalken would pass on, the last of the founders were gone.
Education
Learning a great deal along his century-long travels, he would eventually hone them at the artisan's guild of Moonforge. Under the guidance of the last of the founders, Arilin would become one of the greatest artificers in all of Arsura, rivaled only by those preceding him.
Employment
Arilin took up a great deal of odd jobs and apprenticeships along his travels, one to help with a hot meal and a warm bed, the other to learn and develop new skills. This all continued until he found himself at Moonforge's doors. Just as before, he would take up an apprenticeship; for nearly a century, he learned all he could from the Mentors and Guildmaster. Despite him never taking the role of Mentor himself, he would become the Guildmaster after the previous one chose him as successor.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Arilin holds his title as Guildmaster as his crowning achievement; though, he is still quite proud of his Eldritch Cannon.
Morality & Philosophy
Arilin holds others above himself, choosing to create for the sake of others rather than himself. His cannon, for instance, is cleverly hidden at the entrance to the guild; should the need ever arise, it can unveil itself and defend the great hall giving precious time for others to prepare or hide. He revels in the teaching of the guild, going over each and every Mentors' plans, personally, to help improve them. When he can find the time, he takes up one or two promising pupils to teach, giving specialized lessons for each of their strengths.
Taboos
Experimentation, tinkering, or teaching involving another person which could result in harm or death of any kind.
