Jaggedcliffe
Jaggedcliffe is a small, coastal village in The Blue Star Empire. It is not a village many travelers save adventurers frequent, as the area that surrounds it is some of the most dangerous territory in the region.
Demographics
The village is rather varied, even with its 40~ people, you'd find at least one of every contemporary race here. Human, Dwarf, Tiefling, Elf, Halfling, etc. There are of course, a few extraordinary exceptions.
Government
While technically owned by the Emperor, most of the governing duties have actually been handed off to House Elboreth rather unapologetically, who focuses on the collection of taxes and harvests.
This has of course caused a bit of grumbling amongst the villagers, as they feel like the rather hands-off treatment the ex-capital receives from the Empire is disrespectful to the village's past, let alone their efforts in keeping it from being a smoldering ruin.
Infrastructure
Jaggedcliffe is known for.. being the ex-capital and little else, but at the very least they have a watermill and a forge, in terms of industries. They have the ruins of a shipyard, but there isn't really much traffic going through there these days. A boat could feasibly dock there but there's little reason to.
History
Jaggedcliffe used to be the capital of The Blue Star Empire back during its founding, but after The First War with The Kingdom of Andrial, it fell into ruins. It was only resettled far, far after the fact - and even then, has never really grown past being a village. Some even say that the place has a curse of sorts around it despite only ever having been razed once.
Architecture
The village houses are very common in their appearance - wooden walls with thatch roofing, a few wooden fences surrounding small farms or ranches, the occasional craftsman with a house made of stone.
That being said, some of the houses are actually re-purposed from the old ruins that used to compose the settlement back when it was a capital. Though there are superstitions regarding the center of the ruins, and it is known that some monstrous creatures use the ruins as their homes. Luckily it has never been any more than maybe a dire bear or something. At least, as far as anyone knows.
Geography
Jaggedcliffe lies at the eastern edge of the main-land along the sea, and is otherwise surrounded by a bit of plains with a forest not too far off. More importantly, Jaggedcliffe as a village lies at the southern edge of the desolate ruins that used to be the rest of Jaggedcliffe when it was the ex-capital of The Blue Star Empire.
