The Kingdom of Teitanga
To the north of The Blue Star Empire, lies the kingdom of Teitanga, a vast and cold kingdom. While it may be one of the largest kingdoms in terms of sheer size, Teitanga remains mostly uninhabited save for the bulk of civilization that sits at the southern border. Glittering cities dot the south, bordered at the north by the Stormquake Mountains, a large mountain range that splits the border between Southern Teitanga and The Timberlands to the north. Teitanga’s capital Vul Therin sits upon these mountains, overlooking the rest of the southern cities. It is a ancient dwarven city that has stood for generations.
While Teitanga was once governed by a long line of kings, it is currently ruled by Queen Daleada, last of the Turidin family which has ruled for generations. She is a well respected ruler, opening up Teitanga’s borders to the other kingdoms for trade after many years of isolation. Dalaeda rules her kingdom with the help of her council, a group of six members, elected by the people of the southern cities. This council, along with Queen Dalaeda, is in charge of the law making and politics of Teitanga, and they are all respected by the people.
While Southern Teitanga is relatively tame apart from it’s harsh winters, the same could not be said of the rest of the kingdom. Beyond the Stormquake Mountains are the Timberlands, a harsh and unforgiving land dotted with lost kingdoms, long since overrun by the wild. Little is known about these lands save from tales passed on from the wandering Goliath bands that wander them, and what they tell of the Timberlands is grim. From what we’ve been told of them, the Timberlands is a vast, snowy woodland of tall ancient evergreens that stretch for miles, inhabited by anything from undead to dragons. Though the Timberlands are not the only danger of Teitanga. Long, winding caverns lie beneath the surface, twisting and turning for miles in every direction, though nothing else is known of these caverns, as any brave traveler that ventures into them never returns.

Culture
Compared to the other kingdoms that border it, Teitanga is quite tame in it's politics since Queen Daleada took the thrown. Less interested in war and expansionism outside it's borders, Teitanga focus is more or less on learning about the world around them as their kingdom is one of the most magically charged of the kingdoms, and most of it's northern expanse remains vastly undiscovered.
Though Teitanga was not always peaceful and welcoming to it's neighbors, spending most of it's history with closely guarded boarders and secrets, only opening up for more usual trade within the last couple of decades as it's Queen has worked tirelessly to create trade routes and ease tensions created by her predecessors. This is not done without caution though, as while Teitanga may be on good terms with The Blue Star Empire, they are aware of their militaristic ways.
The civilians of Teitanga are overall hospitable and friendly towards visitors of the other kingdoms, save some still stuck in the old guarded ways of the kingdom. The communities are tight knit and trade oriented, and they are often happy to share stories with travelers. Due to the concentration of magic in the kingdom along with it's closeness to the Feywild, many cities have mage colleges of some regard, though Isyenahil is the epicenter of these schools and is well known for producing some of the most powerful wizards known.
Overall, Teitanga's people are are hardy and tough as the lands that they call home, and despite their peaceful demeanor, have proven themselves to be a force to be reckoned with when pushed.
Public Agenda
Knowledge. Teitanga is largely unconcerned with anything besides learning about the world around it, focusing more on education than anything else. The newly established trade routes only open more opportunities for the kingdom to learn about those who border it.
Assets
Teitanga is largely undiscovered, especially to the north, but despite this between it's closeness to the Feywild, along with the Library of Merellion Teitanga is a hotspot for those interested in magic, as their mage colleges are some of the best in Adan. For those who can survive the harsh landscape, and for those willing to learn, Teitanga has much to offer.
History
While it is largely unknown outside of Teitanga how the kingdom was founded, the Lorekeepers of Mathalon have worked tirelessly over the decades to compile their kingdom's history, along with as many myths, stories, and cultures that they can get their hands on. Built upon the ruins of fallen cities and empires, Teitanga is the oldest of the kingdoms, though this is sometimes disputed, as it was not established as such until after Andrial, nor was it established as Teitanga at all.
Vul Theirn is Teitanga’s oldest city, carved into the Stormquake Mountains by some of the first dwarves. Finding it rich in resources, that same line of dwarves mined deeper into the mountain, carving out a vast maze of a city reaching deep into the earth below, and there they remained for nearly a century before resurfacing. It is unknown outside of the original royal bloodline why precisely they ever resurfaced and never returned to the depths of Vul Therin, sealing the winding caverns behind them, but there are many theories. Some believe that those dwarves dug far too deep, discovering things that mortal eyes were never meant to see, while others simply say that the resources ran out, and that they found all there was to find deep inside that mountain. That original bloodline of dwarves was the Therin family for which the city is named, and they were succeeded by the Turidin family who has ruled since then.
Second to only Vul Therin in age is the Library of Merellion. Few know when, or how the Library came to be outside of the Lorekeepers who have maintained it for it’s known existence. Located within what is now known as the city of Mathalon it is the oldest wealth of knowledge on the material plan that many know of, and it is rumored that many of the Lorekeepers are clerics of Medulla, but that has yet to be proven due to the secrecy of the organization. Both of these settlements predate Teitanga as a whole, but is unknown by how long.
After resurfacing from the depths of Vul Therin, the dwarves turned their gaze south, and slowly but surely spread their reach throughout what is now known as Southern Teitanga. Allying themselves with the elves who had made their home above ground, along with the few humans and other races who had ventured that far north, eventually a border was established after more of the kingdoms began expanding. With a closely guarded border established, the newly established Kingdom of Teitanga turned its gaze inwards once more, establishing more settlements, and eventually cities, the first of which being Isyenahil, along with its colleges.
Teitanga did well avoiding wars outside of its borders, only clashing once with The Blue Star Empire in its infancy. Instead they focused their energy on learning how to live in the harsh land they called home, so closely pressed against by the Feywild in some places, which made many places uninhabitable to those inexperienced. But eventually, Southern Teitanga was vastly tamed.
It is only within the last 50 years that any of this history had been available outside the borders of Teitanga, as before Queen Daleada took the throne, the borders of the kingdom had remained closed to all that sook entry. After her fathers death, Daleada Turidin, the last of her bloodline, opened the borders for trade, and despite the friendly demeanor of the civilians, now happy for the new jobs that the trade routes bring, for those who are more observant, there is always a hard and cold shell beneath it, fitting for the land they call home.
