The Iron Mace Guild

The Iron Mace is a criminal organization that steals from the Ismat Empire through raiding their supply lines. Though the Iron Mace has been around for at least a century, it became a substantial threat after Thrimirht took over and brought in his own loyalty. It He organized the different raiding parties around the region under a single banner, and through his ingenuity, creativity and connections, strengthened the raiders efficiency while making them dependent on his supplies. Known already as the 'rule breaker' since he took over the Iron Mace it has been called the 'Empire Breaker'. Though a popular name, it is very much an exaggeration. For one thing, the Iron Mace depends on the empire, not just because they steal from them, but because they sell to them as well. As the 'rule breaker' Thrimirht used unorthodox methods to build up a network of illegal buyers and allies. The Ismat empire has many enemies, and that hatred is taken advantage of by the Iron Mace. It includes a network of asura spies who, because they are shunned, thought little of, and are underpaid for the work they do within the empire are privy to a lot of information, including when valuables are being transported and via what supply lines. However, the Iron Mace is not loyal to anyone but themselves. As much as they pay asuras for information, they also kidnap and sell them to the Pidmaya of Mayador who treat them far worse than the devs do. And yet, for being such a proud thorn to the Ismat Empire, many of the downtrodden look upon the Iron Mace as heroic, until they themselves are their victims.
