Lavina Wisp
The first mate of the Calm Delilah was a woman Captain Mitchell had worked with a few times before. Trustworthy, swift, and a capable fighter, Lavina Wisp was a true terror on the open seas, and worth every gold piece she demanded for the journey. Upon reaching the mysterious Dead Man’s Isles, Lavina quickly took charge, leading the crew from victory to victory against the region’s monstrous inhabitants. Under her effective leadership, The Calm Delilah soon had her hold brimming with golden caskets filled with doubloons, mysterious emerald idols, beautifully crafted chalices and sacrificial daggers, and various crates of drums, masks, spices and other exotic goods taken from the inhabitants of the Dead Man’s Isles.
Lavina was praised by many on board The Calm Delilah for her quick thinking, impressive swordplay and leadership skills. With even the captain singing her praises at every opportunity, her ego quickly grew ever larger as the voyage continued, and it wasn’t long before tragedy struck. On the final day of the expedition, Lavina led the crew into a deep tomb, littered with bones and foul with desecration. Against Captain Mitchell’s orders, Lavina pressed on, taking a number of crew with her to explore the vast underground crypt.
Lavina emerged many hours later; her cutlass covered in dried blood and her leather armor riddled with claw marks and viscera. She held in her hands a small metal flower; it’s petals adorned with polished sapphires that glimmered an icy blue in the silvery moonlight. Lavina coveted the strange artifact, her once wondrous hazel eyes now an eerie, emerald green. She insisted on adding this newfound treasure to the hold herself, snapping at any who made to part her from it.
