Calm Delilah
aka the Midnight Mist
Originally a merchant ship, The Calm Delilah was responsible for transporting a multitude of valuable goods and artifacts to interested investors, nobles and traders. The ship was owned by Captain Julius Mitchell, a privateer merchant trader, well known within the noble community as a reliable transporter of exotic goods.
The Calm Delilah was no ordinary merchant ship. The captain spent a large sum of his fortune as well as all of his advance from his patrons, Lady Phane Prestside and Lord Gellan Primewater, outfitting her for such a long and dangerous journey; turning the once light and speedy trade vessel into an imposing, heavily armed frigate. A selection of cannonades lined the deck, and a secondary floor was added, filled with a deadly array of broadside cannons. The cargo hold was expanded to make room for any artifacts the crew might come across, and the living quarters were upgraded to double as a barracks; filled with all manner of minor magical wands, spears and ranged weapons.
Unfortunately the Calm Delilah never returned from the voyage, and no word ever came back about the crew or the treasure. Until recently when a fisherman found The Logbook of Captain Mitchell floating near a mysterious tropical island that had appeared overnight.
The Logbook eventually made its way to Lady Phane who hired Captain Akrus the Red and the crew of The Twilight Shepherd to investigate, leading to the events that took place on Spiteful Shores. These events are told in the book The Savage Seas - Recounting the Many Magnificent Missions of the Moonlight Marauders Vol 1.
After the Ship had been wrecked, possessed by the ghost of Lavina Wisp, magically restored, and subsequently exorcised by the Moonlight Marauders it was rechristened the Midnight Mist and in addition to the The Twilight Shepherd is now owned by Commodore Akrus and his Officers.
