Baited Decoy

A simple, but versatile concept, with many forms of deployment. Some can be as simple as a wire and hook rig set up to allow a hunter to rustle brush and undergrowth from a distance away. Others a blood-soaked piece of brightly colored clothing spread amongst some branches or brush, strategically placed to seem as if a person crouching. Favorite foods left in a vulnerable location. There are many methods, all meant to accomplish the same goals. Displacement of the target, and manuevoring them into a higher risk location, directly where you wish to engage them.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Deployment Time and Tools: Requires some sort of bait. Setup time is 1d10 minutes.

Effected Area: It is fair to assume this trap has a mile radius for scent, should the bait be a food or blood based trap for some sort of creature or beast. It is also a visual effective radius, for such an injured 'human' can be seen, seemingly, from a distance. It can have an audible range as well, if you so choose to have a bit of fishing line or some such rigged up to rustle some brush and such.

Trigger Mechanism/Conditions: So once noticed, basically it requires a Sagacity Defense Test on approach to realize that the objects and noises and even smells are a fake or a setup. Should the target(s) fail this test, they close into that spot, thinking they've found food or wounded prey. This trap is a great one to utilize in combination with others

Immediate Effects: The affected targets move to close in on the baited decoy, even going to far as to attempt to attack it.

Lasting Effects: None, once the decoy is attacked, it is obvious it isn't real.
