Traps and Tricks, the unique sort of tools of the Hunter, are deployed quite differently to any other such powers, abilities or tools in this chapter, and serve uniquely different functions as well. Some are methods of battlefield control, creating hazards, permanent alterations and dangers amongst terrain meant to hamper, hinder, and otherwise force foes to manuevor and behave in ways the Hunter wishes. Still others are combat tricks, little things meant to be deployed not to do great harm or damage directly, but to garner some sudden and immediate tangible advantage. A skilled hunter mixes and matches these, utilizing them to maximize their effectiveness as the scenarios they are presented dictate. Laying traps, utilizing terrain, unleashing simple but effective tools to suddenly alter the conditions that a foe is under.
Hunters are also very different from those whom utilize more complex devices, magicks or other powers under this section. Unlike those others, Hunters from the get go know how to do all of the following, and though they can utilize Craft (Trap-Making) at a GM's discretion to perhaps make more complex versions, such as lining a pitfall trap with sharpened stakes, or other such extra-curricular ideas, Craft (Trap-Making) is for the most part a skill meant to allow them to disarm/dismantle simple and non-magick traps. By no means do they have a Scoundrel's expert skills at it, but in a pinch they can sub in with this skill, unlike the Scoundrel, whom uses Sleight of Hand. They have a hard limit on how many traps and tricks they can deploy per rest period instead, representing how many ready materials they happen to have readily available to them ready to go. As such these items will be broken down thusly;
Deployment Time and Tools: How long it takes to setup/deploy the trap or trick, and items required for its setup, if any.
Effected Area: How big of an area it covers and effects when tripped/activated.
Trigger Mechanism/Conditions (if Required): Explains exactly what it sounds like, detailing, mostly for the traps, how it is triggered.
Immediate Effects: These generally only affect the primary target, the person or creature that triggered the trap or had the trick directly used on them.
Lasting Effects: These are the continuing effects that the trap or trick has on the terrain and environment beyond the immediate effects on the poor soul whom triggered them/had em used on them.
